MobLand Episode 4 | Rat Trap (2025) Full TV Recap | Plot Summary & Ending Explained

Episode 4 of MobLand kicks off with Harry fulfilling his promise to Bella from last week, retrieving all copies of Lord Pennock’s sting video from Antoine in his trademark intimidating yet comedic style. Harry ensures Antoine never considers crossing Bella again, brushing off Antoine’s feeble bribe attempt with a glimpse of his ruthless potential. But questions linger: why does Antoine have so much cash and multiple copies of the video? Is he a French spy, a journalist exposing UK corruption, or a pawn hired by the police or an old Harrigan enemy to sow chaos? For now, the third theory seems most plausible—Antoine’s likely a hired hand stirring trouble while the Harrigans are distracted. Harry’s intervention may have delayed this scheme, but Antoine and his mysterious employer could resurface.

Harry reunites with Jan and Gina, but Jan demands to know what he’s been up to in the past 12 hours. He recaps last week’s events, mentioning Maria, which triggers Jan’s frustration. She admits she’d rather not hear about his work, as it stresses her out. When Jan asks how he secured a spot for Maria’s mother in an old-age home, Harry sidesteps, noting it’s part of the job she doesn’t want details on. This exchange highlights the Da Souzas’ dependence on Harry’s ties to the Harrigans for their privileged life. Without it, they’d struggle—Jan doesn’t work, and Harry’s stashed savings likely wouldn’t sustain them long-term. Jan knows this but vents to her therapist, relying on confidentiality. This dynamic underscores a growing tension: can Harry ever leave the Harrigans without risking his life, and can Jan accept the cost of their lifestyle?

In the Cotswolds, Conrad learns the police found Archie’s body, sparking a funny yet telling exchange with Paul, who naively questions how the police identified the corpse. This echoes Paul’s earlier probing after Archie’s death, raising a theory: is Paul truly simple-minded, or is he secretly gathering evidence, perhaps wired by authorities? Meanwhile, Maeve seizes the moment when Conrad notes only he and Harry knew Archie’s body’s location. She suggests Harry might be a “grass,” accusing him of leaking details to the police during his arrest by DS Fisk. Maeve’s fixation on Harry supports the theory that she’s the true antagonist, aiming to oust him because his efficiency thwarts her plans to destabilize Conrad’s leadership. Though Conrad trusts Harry and dismisses her, he suspects Jan might be the weak link and orders Paul to track her. Maeve’s scheming is clear, but is she collaborating with Fisk’s team to undermine the Harrigans?

At the yard, Harry and Kevin monitor whether Valjon holds up under Richie’s scrutiny or if Richie buys the scapegoat ruse. Meanwhile, Zosia is visited by Donnie, a mysterious man claiming Harry knows him. Zosia denies knowing Harry to deflect him, but Donnie leaves his number, poses for a photo, and eerily knows her name. Harry claims no recollection of Donnie when Zosia calls, but is he lying? MobLand’s Wikipedia page labels Donnie as Harry’s “adversary,” hinting at a past or emerging rivalry. Donnie’s poised to become a key player. Separately, Harry asks Kevin about Kevin recalls Rusby, an abusive guard from their juvie days, but Kevin feigns ignorance. Later, it’s clear Kevin remembers Rusby’s trauma from his assault lingers, explaining his denial. Harry likely seeks Rusby—possibly the old man in the care home—for retribution, but Kevin’s reluctance to discuss it hints at unresolved pain.

Kevin drops a shocking revelation: Conrad and Bella were lovers when she was in her 20s and he in his 50s. Bella was one of Conrad’s seven regular partners, rising to his favorite until Maeve intervened. Conrad then introduced Bella to her Kevin, leading to their marriage and Eddie’s birth. Maeve later revealed this to Kevin in a fit of anger, and though Bella didn’t deny it, they stayed together, Kevin admits he’s haunted by it. Harry’s reaction suggests he knew, possibly hinting at his own past with Bella. This “medieval” drama fuels speculation: is Harry a traitor, as Maeve claims, or a “necessary evil” loyal to the Harrigans? Maeve’s doubts could poison Conrad’s trust in Harry, creating a rift that threatens them all.

Conrad, aware of Jan’s therapy sessions, corners her, implying her discussions about Harry’s work and frequent therapy visits could distract him. He orders her to stop, emphasizing that her “shakiness” risks destabilizing Harry’s focus on serving the Harrigans. Pierce Brosnan’s chilling performance underscores Conrad’s menace, leaving Jan terrified. When Harry later echoes Conrad’s concerns without knowing of the meeting, it reinforces their alignment—but if Harry learns Conrad physically threatened Jan, his anger could play into Maeve’s hands, fracturing his loyalty.

The episode confirms Maeve and Eddie orchestrated Tommy’s death. Eddie lured Tommy to a club, killed him, and paid Valjon to dispose of the body. Maeve’s motive? She’s frustrated by Conrad’s passivity, delegating tasks to Harry, Kevin, and Paul, which she believes weakens the Harrigans against the rising Stevensons. Maeve aims to either revive Conrad’s old ruthlessness or replace him with Eddie. However, Eddie’s impulsiveness could derail her plans, leaving her vulnerable. Harry remains her biggest obstacle, so she may be working with Fisk’s team—including Alice, Jan’s therapy friend—to frame Harry or Jan as rats, easing her path to power. Alice might also seduce Conrad, exploiting his promiscuity to distract him.

Harry delivers the sting video copies to Bella, clashing over her continued dealings with Antoine. Kevin spots Harry leaving Bella’s hotel, but Harry’s quick lie about safety concerns satisfies him. At a meeting with Richie, Harry learns Richie accepts Valjon’s confession but demands Harry kill him to prove it’s not a Harrigan cover-up. Harry complies convincingly. Richie then invites the Harrigans to Tommy’s funeral—a trap. Attending risks a massacre; skipping it signals guilt. Harry and Kevin know they’re cornered, and press photos suggest the Harrigans will attend. Will it end in bloodshed? If Richie targets Conrad, Maeve’s plan accelerates; if Eddie, she pivots to Brendan. If all are hit, Maeve faces chaos. The stage is set for a tense, explosive next episode.[wide]
